India is celebrating Parakram Parv from 28th to 30th September to commemorate the second anniversary of surgical strikes carried by the Indian army across the Line of Control (LOC). Events are being organized across India at various locations in 51 cities to highlight the valour and accomplishments of the Indian Armed Forces.
Under Eastern command, events and exhibitions are being organized in state capitals of the North Eastern states at Imphal, Agartala, Gangtok, Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Kohima and Itanagar. The event is aimed to reach out to the school students and the civil population. Apart from exhibition of armaments and equipment of the armed forces, other attractions at the Parakram Parv celebration venues are screening of movies on surgical strike, motivational lecture, career counselling, information kiosks and live performance by the bands of the armed forces.
In Asssam, the event is being organized simultaneously at Guwahati Air Force Station and Narengi Military Station. In Lower Assam, the event is at Jhankar Auditorium in Dinjan Military Cantonment area. Equipment like field guns of artillery, small arms of infantry, engineering items, mountaineering gadgets, medical equipment for treatments of sick and injured during operation etc. have been put on show for the visitors. At the Guwahati air force station the items in display include MI-17 Helicopter, AVRO and Dornier aircrafts and various Radars employed in the Air Force.
In Meghalaya, the main event is at Station Workshop, Shillong.
The event in Sikkim is being organized at West Point School, Gangtok and at the OBC School, Namchi.
In Arunachal Pradesh, apart from Itanagar, Parakram Parv is also being organized in Tawang.
In Manipur, the event is scheduled at Tulihal airport and in Tripura, its being organized at Assam Rifles Public School, Agartala.
In Mizoram, the event is being conducted at 46 AR Battalion Headquarters in Aizawl, at Sainik School, Chhingchhip and at 10 AR Battalion location at Serchhip.
In Nagaland, the Parakram Parv events are being held at Kohima Science College and St Joseph College Jakhama.
